In an era where creativity knows no boundaries, Sharon Joseph emerges as a dynamic force who seamlessly blends music, literature, and storytelling into a singular artistic identity. Recently honored with the prestigious International Golden Tagore Award for Literature, Sharon’s journey stands as a testament to passion, versatility, and relentless artistic pursuit.

Hailing from the culturally rich state of Kerala, Sharon Joseph has carved a niche for herself as a thriller author, playback singer, and lyricist. What sets her apart is not just her talent, but her remarkable ability to express across six languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, and English—making her voice resonate with a diverse audience across India and beyond.

Sharon’s musical journey began at a young age, recording her first devotional album at just 10 years old, reflecting an early inclination toward melody and expression. However, her professional breakthrough came in 2014 with her debut as a playback singer in the Malayalam film Hangover. Her song “Vellithingal,” a duet with renowned singer Najim Arshad, composed by Mejo Joseph, marked the beginning of a promising career in the film industry.

Before fully embracing music, Sharon pursued a corporate path, working with Suzlon in Pune after completing her post-graduation in Business Administration. Yet, her passion for the arts eventually led her to transition into a full-time creative professional, proving that true calling often finds its way.

Her artistic repertoire continued to expand as she lent her voice and words to numerous advertisements and devotional albums in multiple languages. In 2016, Sharon achieved another milestone by debuting as a lyricist in Hindi for acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan’s film Oppam, starring Mohanlal. She not only penned the Hindi lyrics for “Pala Naalaayi” but also rendered her vocals, showcasing her dual talent.

The same year saw her collaborate with the legendary K. J. Yesudas, performing the duet “Sisira Vaanil” for the movie Chinna Dada. Sharing space with such an iconic voice further solidified her standing in the music industry.

Beyond films, Sharon continues to connect with audiences as a Radio Jockey at Sargakshetra 89.6 FM in Kottayam, where her voice reaches listeners in a more intimate and conversational format.

In 2023, Sharon ventured into the literary world with her debut parapsychological thriller novel, TERRORS OF MIDNIGHT, released on Christmas. The book reflects her fascination with the unknown, blending suspense, psychology, and supernatural elements—hallmarks of her storytelling style. With this, she successfully expanded her creative footprint from sound to the written word.

Sharon Joseph’s journey is not just about achievements—it is about reinvention, courage, and creative freedom. Whether through a haunting melody, evocative lyrics, or gripping narratives, she continues to redefine what it means to be a modern Indian artist.

Her recognition with the International Golden Tagore Award for Literature is not merely an accolade, but a celebration of a voice that transcends mediums and languages—truly making her a multilingual force shaping India’s evolving creative landscape.
